When employees at Microsoft’s Redmond campus walk into their offices and log onto their computers every morning, they more than double the city’s population in a matter of minutes.

In fact, new statistics just released by the U.S. Census Bureau shows Redmond has a bigger spike in daytime population than any other city in the nation with more than 50,000 residents.

The Seattle Times reports Redmond’s population of 53,000  jumps daily by about 110 percent to 111,000.

That takes it from the 19th-largest, to the seventh-largest city in the state.
