crime-scene-tape-police-lightsSEDRO-WOOLLEY – A small car packed with seven teenagers crashed Monday morning in Sedro-Woolley.

The car was travelling eastbound on Hoehn Road around 1:30 a.m. when the driver of the crowded car failed to negotiate a curve. Washington State Patrol Trooper Mark Francis said the driver of the Chevy Cruze, a 34-year-old man from Marysville, was the lone adult in the crash. He was allegedly high on drugs, police said.

Francis said seven teens ranging from 16 to 18 years old were packed into the car.

Five people were transported to hospitals in Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley.  Three were in serious condition Monday morning. It is unknown if they were wearing seatbelts.

The driver was arrested for DUI and will be booked on vehicular assault charges.

Leave it to the kids that almost died this morning act like it was all just a joke. Speeding, drinking under age, and possible drug use not tolerated in my book. See to it the drivers punishment fits the crime. What’s it going to take for kids now a days to learn? Near death doesn’t seem to do it. My 18 year old sister was one of the teens in the crash.

It was not the kids is fault how dare you my cousin was in that car and in that accident thank you very much, there were adult parents who got injured ok, not some teens driving. I am dealing with this pretty hard cause I know washington state and the laws of what goes on, and the fact that the other man that was driving should be put behind bars for DUI and also should be charged with vehicular assault.

My daughter was also one of the teens injured. All the kids made wrong choices for theirselves getting into the vehicle with someone they barely knew. I spoke with this man's brother, and he knew he was intoxicated, and did nothing. His exact words were"I told him it was a bad idea when they ALL left". He didn't even try to stop it. I believe after hearing comments that my daughter made, that they were all very well aware of the fact that this man had been drinking, heck they were all headed out to party on a turn off at Hoehn and Duffy road where the accident happened. The facts speak for theirself. All these kids claim they weren't drinking, I find that real hard to believe. I guess we will find out soon enough, cause I am sure that all of them had blood alcohol/ and drug screening done at the hospital when they were all being treated. I am very thankful that all of these kids survived, this could have all turned out much much worse. But I do agree that The comments that some of these kids are posting on fb make them look real guilty, espically when they are bragging and posting comments like the ones I have read.
