Car Wash Crook: Accused of using blowtorch to bust into vacuum machines

TORCHWANTED IN SEATTLE -- Seattle police say they aren't sure if this accused thief went to the car wash to get his ride cleaned up, and then decided to rip-it off -- or if he washed it as an excuse to be there. Either way, detectives want to know who this guy is.

He was driving a dark mini-van and it must have been dirty because he took into the stall to and gave it a good wash, scrubbing the hood and making sure the vehicle was sparkling clean. He looks a little suspicious on the video when he's by the change machine. He stood there for awhile, as though he was considering what to do. Then, he drove his van over to the vacuum pumps and this is where Ret. Det. Myrle Carner with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound says -- it gets really interesting! "He takes out a torch and torches through the coin operated machines and removes a lot of coins. And then, he takes off and leaves the scene. Now, fortunately we have some pretty good video, not only of the van, but if you look at the guy in the picture, there's a pretty good chance you probably know who this guy is. Very unusual case."
