SEATTLE -- A new viral video is out to prove a long-standing math rule wrong.

The order of operations, remembered in the mnemonic device PEMDAS, doesn't work as well as it should. According to the makers of the video, each part of the equation should be in parentheses, and narrowed down until you have an answer.
