Chinook Pass reopens in time for weekend

SNOQUALMIE NATIONAL FOREST - Chinook Pass over State Route 410 is set to reopen in time for weekend travelers, according to a release from The Washington State Department of Transportation.

WSDOT reported crews have spent the past five weeks clearing nearly 20 feet of snow from the road and its shoulders. The pass was slated to reopen Friday at 10 a.m.

Chinook Pass is usually closed every year in late November because of heavy snow, the risk of avalanche, and dangerous driving conditions.

According to WSDOT, drivers still need to look out for winter driving conditions on SR 410
