Pedal-powered smoothies for sale in Tacoma

SEATTLE -- It's zero guilt for your diet and your carbon footprint, too.

A Tacoma business is using bicycles to blend smoothies, according to a report by The News Tribune.

The bicycles not only power Pedal Puree's blenders, they're also used to transport supplies and goods to and from the Broadway Farmers market, the paper said.

Camille Leinweber and Jake Hupp are the young entrepreneurs behind the idea and it's easy to see where it came from -- neither of the 20 year olds own or drive cars.

“I ride my bike everywhere I go. I can’t afford a car,” Hupp told the Tribune. “I think we’re the only vendors here who bring our supplies by bike.”
