Buckets of KFC smuggled to Gaza

A 12-piece bucket goes for just under $30, proving some people will do just about anything for Colonel Sander’s secret recipe.

Fried chicken is showing up on tables in Gaza thanks to smugglers’ new food delivery service, the New York Times reports — but it’s not exactly fast food.

On one trip, it took more than four hours for the KFC meals to arrive from Egypt after a journey on two taxis, an international border crossing and a final leg through a smuggling tunnel, the paper said.

The service started a few years ago with a young entrepreneur who launched Gaza City’s first food delivery service using a fleet of motorbikes to ferry food from area restaurants. The service is advertised on Facebook and business is booming.

I’m thinking the Colonel might be turning over in his grave over this. I don’t think he had in mind to feed anti-American, anti-Israel haters KFC while they plot their next Jihadist suicide attack.
