VIDEO: Navy dad surprises son at Lakebay elementary school

LAKEBAY, Wash. — First-grader Jaxin Patrick was speechless when he returned from recess Tuesday at Evergreen Elementary School.

As his classmates and family looked on, Jaxin worked a math problem at the front of the room. His dad, Navy ElectronicsTechnician Phillip Patrick, snuck into the room and asked him a question. Jaxin saw him and jumped into his arms, giving him a huge bear hug.

Jaxin later said he thought it was a dream.

Patrick was not expected home until May after an almost eight-month deployment to Afghanistan. He is the father of four children, and was deployed immediately following the birth of his youngest son. He also surprised his older daughter at her school in Bremerton.

Our PTA just posted the video. It's great that he got to come home and surprise his son that way.
