Meet the man who won the $338M Powerball

PASSAIC, N.J. (WPIX) -- The person who bought the winning $338 million Powerball jackpot in Passaic, N.J., has been identified.

Pedro Quezada, 44, a father of five, validated his ticket Monday afternoon at Eagle Liquor, where he buys his tickets daily — and found out he was the winner.  Surrounded by a swarm of cameras and reporters, Quezada said he was “nervous and tired” but extremely happy.

He says he plans on taking the prize as an up-front lump sum instead of an annuity. Quezada will receive $211 million, which, after taxes, would be a $151 million haul, according to New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger.

As for his plans for his new-found wealth, Quezada plans on taking care of his family first, he said.
