First weekend of spring: A little cool Saturday, but near 55 on Sunday

SEATTLE -- It’s the first weekend of spring and Old Man Winter got the last laugh.

Places like Snohomish and Woodinville were just a couple locations that measured about 2 inches of snow Friday morning. But after a week of scattered rain, high winds, patchy snow and hail, it seems that things will be a little calmer heading into the weekend.

An area of high pressure will build into the area, giving us a slow clearing Saturday. Because winds will be out of the north, temperatures will be a little cool, topping out near 50.

By Sunday, temperatures will be closer to 55 under partly sunny skies.

The dry weather looks to last until Tuesday at least.

This also means that the mountains will clear as well.  It’s a much deserved break after Stevens Pass picked up about 29 inches of new snow while Crystal mountain racked up 32 inches in just 72 hours.  This weekend will provide good skiing and snowboarding or nice sunshine to enjoy the lowlands.

Happy Spring everyone!
