SEATTLE — The first day of spring looks to be wet and cloudy in Seattle, but spring flowers are in bloom and could brighten your day.
Pike Place Market is distributing 10,000 daffodils to downtown residents, workers and visitors as part of its 16th annual Daffodil Day.
Market staff, volunteers and community members from the Pike Place Market Preservation and Development Authority will pass the daffodils out at eight central downtown locations between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
You can get your daffodil, while supplies last, at Westlake Park, Pacific Place, Benaroya Hall, City Hall, the Seattle Public Library, Westlake Tower, City Centre and Pioneer Square.
The flowers come from three market flower farmers, Children’s Garden, Hmong Highland Garden and John & Lita’s Farm.
