PORTLAND (KPTV) — A man who drove drunk and crashed into a newlywed couple in Portland will never be able to drive again.
Michael Allen hit the couple as they crossed Southeast 142nd and Division last August. Both victims survived, but suffered serious injuries.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Allen to two years behind bars. He also lost his driver’s license for life and must pay his victims nearly $240,000.

I know that's what I was thinking too! How many times have we seen people arrested for driving on a suspended/revoked license? It's too common, or multiple DUI's? Doesn't seem to solve the problem.

Two years?? Should be a MINIMUM of TEN, AND….loss of license for life, and IF, he gets caught just ONE more time, driving without that license, then it's an automatic 30 years!! NO PAROLE!!

he'll drive anyway, has already shown a lack of good judgement and those people will probably never see any money from this loser unless he happens to have assets they can sieze while he is in jail (and then a lawyer will take a third of it!)

If it didn't bother him to drive while he was hammered, it certainly won't bother him to drive without a license. They should gouge out his eyes instead.
