It's official: The King is here to stay

SEATTLE -- After nearly a week of rumors, Seattle Mariners General Manager Jack Zduriencik announced Tuesday that the team came to a contract agreement with right-handed pitcher Felix Hernandez.

The terms of the deal have not yet been released. USA Today previously reported that a deal was in the works for 7-years and $175 million. However, reports of minor elbow problems in Hernandez's throwing arm brought the deal into question.

Hernandez will sign the new contract and hold a news conference in Seattle beginning at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Safeco Field. It will be available to watch online at www.mariners.com.
