Rainier Valley shooting leaves 1 seriously injured; suspect at large

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that severely injured a 40-year-old man Sunday night in Rainier Valley.

Officers responded to calls of shots fired at 5:52 p.m. in the area of Rainier Avenue South and South Othello Street. According to Seattle police officers, the victim was sitting in his car when he was struck by several gunshots from an unknown suspect or suspects. The victim drove himself from the scene and flagged down a passing officer. The man was transported to the Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Officers investigating the incident found a gun lying on the floor of the victim's vehicle.

No description of the suspect(s) was not immediately available. The Seattle Police Department is investigating the shooting.
