Seahawks starting cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner issued a joint statement Wednesday “on facing suspensions for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.”
“To allow our focus to remain on football,” the joint Sherman/Browner statement said, “during the appeal process we will refrain from any further public comments regarding this situation.”
The Seahawks Communications press release stated that their joint statement was on “facing suspensions for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.”
It was the football team’s first confirmation of an ESPN report that the two were facing suspensions.
Earlier this week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted that Sherman and Browner both face four-game suspensions for performance-enhancing drug. Both Sherman and Browner are appealing the suspensions and insist they are innocent, Schefter reported.
According to a report, Sherman and Browner tested positive for Adderall, a drug used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder.
The two cornerbacks could continue to play during the appeals process. The Hawks, 6-5, will head to Chicago to face the Bears on Sunday.

Absolutely Disgusted. From today’s loss, to this news? The Team needs to take a serious look in the Mirror. Pete? You better start producing Wins or you’ll be down the road. Unacceptable, embarrassing, and down right disappointing.

So if they had a PRESCRIPTION for this drug, would it be a big deal???
What if it was a Pro player suffering from ADD, and they had a Doctors prescription, would they be suspended as well??

To the “tough” guy that posted 2nd and 4th, you’ve been exposed. For the type of person you are. And to the last post, unfortunately, if its on the leagues list of banned substances, there is little the players, or the union can do except challenge the procedure in collection and handeling of samples taken.
