Feeling lucky? Tonight's jackpot hits $550 million

Feeling lucky?  If so, tonight could be your night with $500 million as the jackpot in Wednesday's lottery, and the chance of winning that much money has a lot of people coming to the Hilltop Red Apple Market.

According to the Beacon Hill Blog, the market has a history of distributing winning tickets -- last year there were 14 winning tickets purchased here.

With 42 states, including Washington, playing Powerball, this is the largest jackpot yet. And even if you're feeling lucky when they draw the numbers at 8 p.m. Wednesday, your odds are one in 175 million that you'll end up with the winning ticket. Those odds are so slim, in fact, that the Huffington Post put together a list of other things that are more likely to happen, such as winning the presidential election, dating a supermodel or finding a four-leaf clover.

Wednesday's jackpot is the largest in the world and the second largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. The drawing will take place at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Time.
