Police shoot gunman outside Seattle nightclub

Seattle police shot and injured a man they said fired a gun into a crowded nightclub parking lot early Sunday morning.

According to the Seattle Police Department, club security at Citrus Nightclub in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue North called police to warn them there could be trouble in the crowd at closing time. Police arrived on the scene and at 1:50 a.m., a 22-year-old male allegedly opened fire into the club's parking lot before fleeing the scene on foot.

A 26-year-old man was struck by the gunfire and was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police officers spotted the suspect a short distance from the club. The man allegedly pointed his gun at the officers, and two Seattle police detectives opened fire and hit the suspect.

Medics transported the suspect to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, and he will be booked into the King County Jail when released from the hospital.

No officers were injured during the shooting. The Seattle Police Department is investigating the incident.
