Franklin High School football coach sought sex with 13-year-old, police say

A football coach at Seattle's Franklin High School was arrested Monday for allegedly trying to have sex with an underage girl, the Seattle Times reported.

According to the Times, the 13-year-old girl used her mother's phone to text with 35-year-old Omar P. Urrutia. When the mother found disturbing texts, she responded to the coach and pretended to be her daughter. The mother contacted Kent police when Urrutia responded suggestively, the Times reported.

The coach arranged to meet the girl and her friend in Renton. Police arrested him when he arrived for the meeting.

Urrutia allegedly told detectives he had made a mistake and needed counseling.

He was charged with attempted rape of a child and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
