Voter registration rates have fallen since last presidential race

Voter registration rates have declined since 2008, especially among young people, according to the Washington, D.C.-based Pew Research Center report.

The organization said that in interviews conducted over the course of 2012 so far, 72% of adults 18 and older say they are absolutely certain they are registered to vote. This is lower than in 2008, when 79% were registered to vote and in 2004 (76% registered to vote).

Matt Lorch of Q13 FOX News went to the University of Washington campus Tuesday to get student views as to why young voter registration is lower.
